Hello, I'm Ava
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Springfield, United States.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t part of the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built GlobalFamily Living
Most information available online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family point of view.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United States.
What This Website Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United States goes on, along with the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
